Manny Legace is a Stanley Cup winning goaltender with more than 20 years of experience as a Professional Hockey Player at all levels – International, Major Junior, AHL, NHL. Among his accomplishments:
- Named to the 2008 Western Conference NHL All-Star Team
- Won a Stanley Cup in 2002 with the Detroit Red Wings
- Olympic Silver Medalist at Lillehammer in 1994
- World Junior Gold Medalist in Sweden in 1993, and Goaltender of the Tournament honors
Manny Legace started his first Hockey School in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1996 and has been coaching players ever since. He is dedicated to instructing and guiding players on the various aspects of hockey, encompassing all positions.
A.J. Walczak has established himself as one of the premier goaltending coaches through his relentless work ethic, knowledge of the goaltending position and tenacious approach to the game.
A.J. has successfully developed and worked with goaltenders of all ages, including dozens of goalies currently playing in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, College, and Junior A. He has also studied and worked with numerous NHL, College, Junior A, and European goaltending coaches.
Although A.J.’s playing days were cut short he spent time in the OHL, UHL, and ECHL where his passion for coaching began as he worked with some of the top goalie coaches in the game. A.J.’s success as a goaltending coach is best demonstrated by the number of goaltenders he has developed that have gone on to have illustrious careers at all levels.
Jimmy comes to LHA with a wealth of playing experience. Coach Spratt had three successful years in the USHL with Sioux City, and was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He then went on to play four years at Bowling Green (NCAA D1). Coach Spratt has played in various professional leagues, most notably with the Dallas Stars organization in the AHL.
Pete Gibb grew up playing his minor hockey in the metro-Detroit area with the ’87 AAA HoneyBaked and Little Caesars organizations. From there, coach Gibb moved West to Salt Lake City, and is currently playing for the University of Utah in the ACHA.
Coach Gibb was previously a Regional Director with Future Pro, and comes to us with a wealth of goaltending knowledge and expertise. Pete has been successfully developing goaltenders of all levels for many years. He has extensive experience running association clinics, private lessons, USA Hockey CEP clinics, and more.

Rick has been playing locally for travel teams for 12 years AA and AAA. He finished his career playing for The Toledo Cherokee Jr. A organization.
Currently Rick attends Ferris State University and is going through the PGM Professional Golf Management Program. Rick coaches multiple travel teams in Big Rapids along with Big Rapids High School and the ACHA Ferris State club team. Rick is available for Private and Team lessons on the west side of Michigan and greater Big Rapids area.

Matt grew up playing AA and AAA hockey in the Metro-Detroit area for various programs. After a successful youth career Matt made the jump to Junior hockey were he split time between the Wayne Wheels and Motor City Chiefs. During his time with Motor City Matt led the Chiefs to the National Tournament three years in a row.
Matt has been coaching goaltenders of all ages over the past couple of seasons, including Wyandotte High School who won a State Title in 2010. Matt has been mentoring under AJ Walczak for the past few months and LHA is excited to have him on board.

Rob played goaltender at Oakland University, and finished his career at Eastern Michigan University. He possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, and coaches throughout metro Detroit. Rob has experience coaching AAA, Division 1, and Major Junior caliber goalies. He brings a passionate, calculated approach to his work.

Pete is a very detail-oriented coach. He is very passionate about what he is doing and you can tell he is in it for the kids. Probably one of the most dedicated goalie coaches I have met. I would recommend Pete to any organization and or individual for goaltending consultation.

We were in desperate need of a patient, knowledgeable goalie coach who had the talent to save our season by training our goalies. Pete was more than up to the task and as the season progressed, so did our goal tending.
